The image exists somewhere between the

organic and the abstract, suggesting fragments

of bodies, landscape, roots, and traces of material without fully belonging to any one of

them. Through layers, textures, scratches, stains, and areas of intense black and white,

the composition creates a sense of disturbance, decay, and transformation. The forms

seem to emerge and disappear at the same time, making the image feel like a fragment

of something that has already been altered or partially erased.

The title Defunct Inverse refers to the idea of something that has ceased to exist in its

original state, yet continues to remain present through its trace. In this sense, the work

explores the relationship between presence and absence, destruction and

transformation, and the visible and the concealed.
