In The Final Harvest, PALACE OF THE STRANGE transforms the familiar symbol of a corn cob into a meditation on mortality and the cycle of life and death. Each kernel is replaced by a human skull, turning an image traditionally associated with nourishment, fertility, and abundance into an unsettling harvest of the dead. A brightly coloured butterfly rests beside the corn, introducing a contrasting symbol of transformation, fragility, and rebirth. Through this juxtaposition of growth, death, and transformation, the work reflects the artist’s interest in folklore and the idea that life and death are inseparable parts of the same natural cycle.
